Nicola

studio owner Nicola always knew she wanted to be a professional dance teacher. she has a fierce love of working with people and sharing her passion with them.

From teaching her friends dance routines on the school playground to graduating university with a Bachelor of Arts Dance degree, Nicola has loved every minute of being a qualified dance teacher and choreographer and offering her services to people of all ages since 2004.

No matter who she is teaching, Nicola is happiest seeing her students grow in confidence and witnessing them realise that the big, scary world of dance includes them too!

You may also know her as The Wedding Whisperer where  Nicola has been working with hundreds of couples over the years on achieving their perfect first dance.

Ivy

Studio manager Ivy had her first Samba class at the age of 8, Ivy has been hooked on the world of Ballroom and Latin dancing. She fell in love with the art and mechanics of movement, but also the community that has given her a space to grow and belong.

In the 20 years of experience since that first class; Ivy has choreographed for events and productions, worked with countless wedding couples, taken private students to competition both at home in Sydney and on the world stage. She also is grateful to compete internationally herself with her dance partner.

Ivy’s love of teaching comes from her passion of connecting people and watching them grow. She adores the way that dance both connects us to our sense of self and our loved ones but also how partner dancing allows us to connect with absolutely anyone on the dance floor, whether you’re just starting or an old pro.

Declan

Declan originally started dancing at the age of 2 because he loved music and moving in time with the songs his parents played. From this, each year his mother would sign him up to learn a new style of dance each year until he was taking every available class. At this time, he learned styles like ballet and jazz and is where he fell in love with Hip-Hop.

His love of dance evolved into a career choice, leading him to study and complete an Advanced Diploma of Professional Dance at Brent Street Performing Arts, where he learnt Latin/ballroom for the first time. He loves the connection between partners and the way it forces you to have complete trust in the other person.

Declan believes that dancing is a type of medicine in the way it allows you to express how you're feeling in a way nothing else can. He is excited to grow and learn in the Latin/Ballroom world and can't wait to dance with you!

Jess

Jess started dancing at four years old, growing up in an old scout hall where dance quickly became her happy place.

She loved learning new styles like jazz, ballet, tap, and acrobatics, challenging herself, and the excitement of show days with hairspray in the air. It was a place where she felt free to express herself however she needed to.

Her first job was teaching at the same dance school she grew up in, and she instantly fell in love with it. Watching students grow stronger, more confident, and free to be themselves was the most rewarding part.

That passion continues to inspire her today—to teach classes where everyone can have fun, be a little silly, be kind to themselves, and discover just how capable they really are.

Giovanna

Dance has been part of Giovanna’s life since before she could even walk, it was her very first love. As she grew older, that passion became her profession, and with her background in Psychology, she developed a deep appreciation for the powerful connection between movement, confidence, and wellbeing.

As a dancer, Giovanna is passionate about growth and always strives for excellence. As a teacher, however, her philosophy is entirely different. She doesn’t believe dance is about perfection, she believes it’s about the joy of moving.

She truly believes in the power of our bodies to express, connect, inspire, and transform us. Every movement tells a story, and she loves helping people discover what their bodies are capable of, regardless of age or experience.

For Gi, teaching is about much more than dance. It’s about helping people build confidence, improve body awareness and coordination, create meaningful connections with others, and reconnect with themselves through movement. Nothing brings her more joy than seeing someone walk into class carrying the weight of the day and leave smiling, feeling lighter, more confident, and full of energy, because that’s exactly what dance has always done for her.

Growing up in Brazil, Giovanna naturally brings warmth, positive energy, and a big heart into every class. Her goal is to create a welcoming space where everyone feels supported, encouraged, and free to be themselves.

Whether you’re coming to challenge yourself, learn something new, or simply have fun, GiGI hopes every class becomes the best part of your day just as dance has always been for hers.

She can’t wait to dance with you!
